Following important festivals were celebrated with high enthusiasm and great zeal by the Devotees of Bhagavaan Ji at Bhagavaan GopiNath Ji Ashram, Uttam Nagar (West) New Delhi.

Mahayagya on 13-14th June 2010

The Annual Mahayagya of Jagat Guru Bhagavaan Gopinathji was performed on 14th June 2010 by the Jagat Guru Bhagavaan Gopinathji Charitable Cultural and Research Foundation for promotion of universal brotherhood, peace and end of violence. The venue of the Mahayagya was Bhagavaan Gopinathji Ashram, Uttam Nagar.

The function started on 13th June at 10.30pm with Kalash Pooja, Vedic Mantras and other holy rituals. It continued through the night and concluded with Puran Aahuti on 14th June at 1pm. People, both Kashmiris and non-Kashmiris, attended the function in large numbers. For the first time, Mahayagya was performed in the newly constructed Yagya-shalla of the Ashram.

Therefter the devotees who thronged in large numbers were served Naveed (Prasad lunch) which was followed by singing of Bhajan and Kirtan led by Shri Ashok Ji Raina, a famous Kashmiri Bhajan singer, who came from Pune. The function concluded with Sandhya Vandana at 7:30 pm. All the devotees were given Prasad after the Pooja.

Solar Birthday of Bhagavaan Ji on 3rd July 2010

The solar birthday of Jagat Guru Bhagavaan Gopinathji was celebrated on the 3rd July 2010 at Uttam Nagar, New Delhi. A large number of devotees attended and celebrated the function with enthusiasm and high spirits. The devotees thronged the ashram in large numbers.

This day is also celebrated as Foundation Day of the Jagat Guru Bhagavaan Gopinathji Charitable Cultural and Research Foundation. The function started at 10am with Pratah Aradhana, Ashto Stotra Namavali and other vedic mantras till afternoon. This was followed by distribution of Pulao. The centre of attraction on this occasion was the distribution of Naveed (lunch) to orphan girls from Sanskruti Kanya Anathaalaya who were presented a pressure cooker, eatables, clothes and other gifts by the foundation. Saffron Tilak was also applied on the forehead of all the devotees including children from the orphanage. Thereafter Naveed was served to general public.

A programme of Bhajan and Kirtan was held which was led by Prof M.L. Uday and his singing troupe. The listeners were spellbound when the non-Kashmiri students of Prof Uday sang Kashmiri and Hindi Bhajans in praise of Bhagavaanji. This created an atmosphere of overwhelming joy and spirituality. The function concluded with Sandhya Vandana at 7:30 pm. All the devotees were given Prasad after the Pooja.

Lunar Birthday of Bhagavaanji on 22nd July 2010

The Birthday (Lunar) of Jagat Guru Bhagavaan Gopinathji was celebrated on the 22nd July 2010 at Bhagavaan Gopinathji Ashram, Uttam Nagar, New-Delhi in high spirits and with great zeal.

The function started at 9.30 am with Pratah Aradhana, Paduka Stuti and other Vedic Mantras. People from all walks of life including Kashmiris and non Kashmiris attended the function in large numbers despite it being a working day. All devotees were welcomed with Saffron Tilak which was applied on their foreheads, followed immediately by serving of Kehwa and Luchis to mark the special occasion. After the Pooja the devotees were served with Tehri (yellow rice) and Bhandara (lunch).

Bhajan and Kirtan were led by Shri Ashok ji Raina. He sang Bhajans in praise of our beloved Bhagavaan ji, Ganesha, Shiva and Narayana. Although both the halls of Ashram were full of devotees, there was pin-drop silence throughout the programme. People were completely immersed in devotion, some of them were observed shedding tears of devotion. After the musical program, a new CD, Bhajan Ratri, was released. This CD, costing Rs 50 only, has 20 famous Kashmiri Bhajans sung by Shri Ashok ji Raina. On this auspicious occasion, a booklet containing a poem of 108 verses, called “Bhagavaan Gopinath ji Shatak” was also distributed free of cost. This poem, written by Shri Shriyesh Kumar Jain, a devotee, highlights the life and message of Bhagavaan ji through devotional poetry.

During this function, Sheer Chai (traditional Kashmiri salt tea) was served along with Katlams. The function concluded with Sandhya Vandana at 7:30 pm. All the devotees were given Prasad after the Pooja.

Guru Purnima on 25th July 2010

The sacred day of Guru Parav i.e. Guru Purnima was celebrated on 25th July 2010 by the devotees of Jagat Guru Bhagavaan Gopinathji at Bhagavaan Gopinathji Ashram, Uttam-Nagar, New-Delhi with full devotion and reverence.

The function started at 2.30pm with singing of Bhajans and Kirtan by Shri Ashok ji Raina. This was followed by reciting of Guru Gita, followed by Pushp Archana at the sacred lotus feet of Bhagavaanji. On this auspicious day, a devotee of Bhagavaanji generously donated a water cooler and water purifier to the Ashram for seva. The function concluded with Sandhya Vandana at 7:30pm. Each devotee was given Prasad for his home at the time of departure.

Later Shri P. N. Kaul, Chief Patron of Foundation and Shri Ashok ji spoke passionately about Bhagavaanji’s Nirakaar Roopam form (one that is not visible). They highlighted occasions of Bhagavaanji showering His grace upon His devotees nowadays in various forms, although He has left his mortal frame more than four decades back. Special prayers were also held for international peace, universal brotherhood and eradication of poverty.
